Le Noel Surf Craft - Classic Nose Rider Log - 9'2"

With a name that says it all, this board is for those who have one goal in mind, hanging out on the nose of their board, for maximum tip time! The Nose Rider design by Le Noel Surf Craft uses templates sourced straight from California. These boards, in contrast to what most people think, are very difficult to make well, and make true to form. Most of what you see out there are simplified imitations, and dressed down modern high performance logngboards, but with these original Californian templates, and through tuition in making them whilst living and shaping in Cali, Le Noel knows all to well that the art to make an amazing nose rider, is finding the perfect harmonious balance between a board being being fast when you need it, and slow when you want it, so you can stay right in the pocket where you need to be, for as long as possible.
With a few years of shaping and riding these boards back in NZ conditions, Oli has has gently been refining these to be better suited to the classic kiwi swells, which are very different from Cali.

The Classic Nose Rider features a deep nose scoop, creating lift under your feet when standing on the nose. This blends into a light, rolled belly with a straighter outling through the middle and a pulled-in square tail. Combined, these design elements work together to keep the board gliding, and make it possible to shoot through fast sections, then easily bank the board over on rail into a big turn, rolling off all your speed and putting you back deep into the pocket again so you can get up on the tip and add up some nose riding, aka "tip-time".
These boards also feature boxy 50/50 rails with a little more volue to make it more forgiving. It is made to be ridden in anything from knee-waist upto chest-high conditions, with long peeling waves reccomended for maximising the full potential of this classic nose rider.
A large area, upright, classic style nose rider fin is suggested in these boards as it creates a bigger surface are and a large amount of drag, enabling the board to slow down and be very stable, keeping you in the pocket of the wave to extend your nose rides.
